Писателят Георги Господинов гостува на Българския културен институт Лондон. Над 200 посетители препълниха Галерия "София" за организираната от БКИ Лондон среща със световноизвестния български писател.

Литературната среща с Георги Господинов е 244-тото събитие на БКИ Лондон от създаването на Института преди 4 години.

Събитието, с модератор известният литературен критик Димитър Камбуров, предизвика голям интерес още от момента на обявяването си през май месец.
До ранните сутрешни часове в деня преди събитието, много българи и чужденци пишеха имейли и съобщения до БКИ Лондон с искане за запазване на места и желание за повече информация относно събитието.

Meeting the Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov

The Centre for South East European Studies is pleased to welcome the poet, writer and playwright Georgi Gospodinov, one of the most read Bulgarian contemporary authors around the world, and who is in London thanks to the support of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute London.

The meeting will be chaired by Dr Dimitar Kamburov, literary critic, Associate professor of Literary Theory at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", and Lector of Bulgarian Language, Culture and Literature at Trinity College Dublin. It will be translated by literary translator Angela Rodel.

Gospodinov became internationally acclaimed for his Natural novel (1999, English version: 2005), translated in 21 languages and renowned to be the most translated book after the year 1989. His latest novel Physics of Sorrow has been published this year in English, and so far in German, Serbian, Italian, French, Slovenian and forthcoming in Dutch, Danish and Arabian. It won several national awards - the 2011/2012 Bulgarian Novel of the Year Award of the National Endowment Fund '13 Centuries Bulgaria', the 2012 National Award 'Hristo G. Danov' for best fiction, the 2012 City of Sofia Award for Literature, the 2013 Readers' Prize 'Flower of Helicon' for a bestselling book. It was shortlisted for four international literary prizes - Premio Strega Europeo (Italy), Gregor von Rezzori (Italy), Haus der Kulturen der Welt Preis (Germany), Brücke Berlin Preis (Germany).

Georgi Gospodinov was born in Yambol, Bulgaria. He has a degree in Bulgarian Philology and a Ph.D in New Bulgarian Literature. He became a researcher at the Literature Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Science in 1995. He is a columnist for the daily newspaper Dnevnik and an editor at Literary newspaper.
